Friends…it’s Katie from Made to be a Momma again! I am more than ready for spring and summer weather! I live in Northeastern Pennsylvania and blizzard “Stella” dumped 27 inches of snow on us just a few weeks ago. Nothing reminds me more of sunshine filled days than a delicious lemon flavor filled cookie. These lemon sugar cookies aren’t overly sweet so it’s easy to eat a couple at one time. The dough has lemon in it but I also rolled the cookies in a delicious lemon zest sugar mixture that gives these cookies an extra punch of lemon right as you bite into them.
You never have to decide between a cookie or a brownie again. These oatmeal cookie brownie bars are the perfect, fudgy and delicious combo of both!
I am a sucker for pretty much a quick and easy baked good! As much as I like to bake from scratch, box mixes happen way more often – anything to save time. When my mom was visiting recently, she had the idea to take my favorite cookie mix and brownie mix, and put them together! The marriage was a beautiful one, and we have a new family favorite treat over here. [Read more…]
Chapstick is one of those things that you just always buy not even thinking about the fact that you could make your own exactly how you like it! We are so picky around our house about chapstick. It’s too greasy, not greasy enough, doesn’t smell quite right, isn’t tinted exactly how I like, the list goes on and on. Well I’m here to tell you how easy it is to make your own and make it exactly how you want it!
Get excited friends because you are in for a treat! Literally, this is the world’s best corn salsa. It is my favorite salsa period, and I am somewhat of a Mexican food connoisseur! It is light, healthy, and freaking delicious! Obviously the beans, avocados and veggies in this corn salsa are yummy, but what really takes it over the edge is the light vinnaigrette that goes over the top! I swear it is so good I could drink it! Plus, it helps keep the avocados fresh for longer! You ready for the recipe? [Read more…]
One of my favorite things to do in life is to maximize the usefulness of a small space! Maybe it is the OCD in me, or maybe it is just natural to love adding to somethings beauty and functionality! When we moved into our house the “mudroom” was really nothing more than an empty tiny hallway. Originally we thought we might do built ins, but we had them priced out and they were going to cost almost $2,000! There were just a million other things that we would rather do with that kind of money, so the mudroom got placed on the back burner for awhile.
It didn’t take long though for me to be super sick of tripping over everybody’s shoes there. Not to mention we needed a functional space where we could hang backpacks, coats etc. so I decided to tackle the mudroom issue and I’m super proud of what I came up with! Now, not only is the mudroom functional but it is bright and happy too, and at a tiny fraction of what built ins would have cost us!
