Whole Berry Cranberry Sauce is easy to make in 20 minutes and only has 5 ingredients. Perfect cranberry sauce for a holiday meal! 

Cranberry sauce is one of those things that we must have on Thanksgiving, but luckily it’s one of the things you can make ahead of time and it is really super easy! Our favorite is Cranberry sauce with pineapple. The cranberry and pineapple flavors go together so deliciously.  You will be glad you tried this! Ingredients

  • Whole Cranberries
  • Crushed Pineapple
  • Sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Cloves

Directions:

Rinse cranberries and allow them to dry on a dish towel or paper towels.

  1. Strain crushed pineapple and reserve the pineapple juice that you squeeze out of the can.
  2. Add pineapple juice and sugar to a medium saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat for 1-3 minutes, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Stir in cranberries.
  3. Bring cranberry pineapple sauce to a boil.
  4. Reduce to a simmer over medium-low heat until the cranberries burst and the sauce reduces. It takes around 10 minutes. 
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the crushed pineapple, cinnamon, and cloves.
  6. The sauce will thicken more as it cools. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

FAQ about Whole Berry Cranberry Sauce

What is whole berry Cranberry sauce?

Whole berry cranberry sauce is a sauce that has some cranberries in tact. The alternative is jellied cranberry sauce, which is made by cooking cranberries all the way down. 

How long does Cranberry sauce last? 

Your homemade cranberry sauce can be stored for 10 to 14 days in the refrigerator if it is in a tightly sealed container. You can keep it even longer if you freeze it! 

Can you freeze cranberry sauce? 

Yes! It will taste fresh for 2 months if it is kept in the freezer and will be safe to eat for up to a year. 

To freeze cranberry sauce:

  • Let it cool completely.
  • Put the sauce into a quart-sized freezer bag and label it with the date it was made. 
  • Release as much air as you can before sealing the bag. Freeze! 
  • When you’re ready to thaw the cranberry sauce, put the bag in the fridge overnight, or place it in a bowl of cool water for an hour.

  • 0.5 cup sugar
