My son begged for a Mario Kart Party and this Mario Birthday Party was a roaring success! Complete with free printable food labels and Mario Kart Tournament brackets!
If your kids are anything like my kids, they look forward to their birthday parties basically all year, haha. My son Liam turned five during quarantine and he had been looking forward too his "Mario Kart Party" for months. It nearly broke my heart to have to tell him we couldn't have any friends over, but as soon as we told him we would still have a Mario Birthday Party, it would just be with our family, he was good as gold.

Mario Birthday Party
While there are plenty of options out there for Mario themed parties, there wasn't very much that was Mario Kart specific, so I ended up making my own Mario Kart Tournament brackets and food labels and they turned out so fun! The best thing about this party was how easy it was to pull together. With a combination of free printables and amazon ordered decorations, you can easily pull together a killer party in an hour!

Mario Kart Party
When I am throwing a party, I like to have one focal wall. Doing this is so much more manageable than trying to decorate an entire house or yard. Then, once you are done with that area, you can add a few balloon bunches around other spaces and the whole place feels really festive! For this one I pushed my dining table against the wall and used my white curtains as a back drop to hang these cute Mario masks.
Mario Party Decor
Here are the links for all the decor items that I bought online for the party! They all ended up super cute and so quick to throw together. We didn't do favors since we didn't have kids coming over, but I included the bags and gifts I would have used just in case you like them too!
- Cute Mario Character Masks I hung these with scotch tape on the curtains to add to the fun backdrop of our party table, then they doubled for favors for Liam's siblings
- Giant Mario Balloon
- Super Mario Birthday Party Kit
- White Plastic Table Cover
- Favor Bags (these would also be cute to put gifts in) and Favor Gift Pack
- Mario T Shirt (our birthday boy LOVED this gift)

Mario Party Ideas
Now that you're decor is all ready to go, the only things left are food and activities! I like using food on the focal area because it is a great way to take up space and draw people's attention to the cute party set up!
Mario Food Labels
I planned my menu around these free printable labels, and it turned out great! Print your own Mario Food Labels here.
Simply print them off on card stock, cut around each label and fold them in half to stand them up on the table in front of the coordinating dish! The menu is a mix of easy, kid friendly (hello pizza and breadsticks), and well rounded with the salad yogurt and bananas! Plus, how darling are these colorful mustache suckers?! They added the perfect pop to the table!
Mario Kart Tournament
No Mario Birthday Party is complete without a Mario Kart Tournament! I whipped up these fun free printable brackets and my kids were so pumped about them! I made an 8 player version as well as a 16 player version for larger groups, but you can adapt as necessary if you have more or less people than that!

A few other fun ideas we had for activities:
- Get old empty boxes and have the kids turn them into "cars" using craft supplies, then race around the yard in them.
- Wear the masks and have a Mario Kart bike race.
- Mario Party Bean Bag Toss Game
- Play Mario themed charades, trying to guess words and characters.
- Pin the M on Mario's Hat party game!
Well, there you have it friends! I hope your Mario Birthday party is a roaring success!
