Make these simple Getting to Know You Questions Centerpieces for your next gathering. These are easy to make in 30 minutes and they're a great icebreaker activity!
I love planning group gatherings. Whether it's a gathering of friends and family, a church group, etc. It's always good to start off with an icebreaker activity. When I made these Getting to Know You Questions centerpieces they were a total hit.
We used these icebreaker questions to do speed dating - but not for actual dating, for making friends in our women's group at church. We called it 'Speed Friendshipping.' Anyway, this activity was so much fun! It got us all out of our shells and gave us the opportunity to meet a lot of people in a short time! No one wanted to stop chatting with each other. Another fun activity to do at a gathering is this Blind Taste test. If you're looking for more printable games and activities check out our Free Printables page!

Getting to Know You Questions Centerpieces
To make the centerpieces, I cut paper flowers out on my Cricut machine and print the questions on my laser printer (totally worth it if you print a lot. I never have to replace the ink!)
Equipment
- Printer
- Cricut Machine optional, see notes
- Cricut LightGrip Mat
- Pair of Scissors
- Glue stick
Materials
- Wooden skewers
- Cardstock (2-3 colors)
- White office paper
Instructions
I made very simple paper flowers for this project, we do have a 3D paper flowers tutorial as well.
Cricut Paper Flowers Instructions:
- Put cardstock onto light grip mat.
- In design space, pick
Assembling the Questions
- Print questions onto white printer paper.
- Cut the circles out with scissors.
- Glue circles onto flower shapes.
- Glue two flower shapes together back to back, with a skewer in between, so that the questions are facing out.
- Repeat until you have as many question flowers as you need.
- Put the flowers into jars in the middle of tables at your activity.
Notes
You do not need to have a Cricut machine in order to make these, however, it will make cutting paper flowers much faster.
To cut paper flowers by hand, print a flower template, trace it with a pencil onto cardstock, and cut them out with scissors.
The printable has a total of 40 questions, and when glued back to back it will make 20 paper flowers. If you need more, print the papers again until you have as many as you need.

How to use these Getting to Know You Questions for Speed Friendshipping:
- Set up three or four long tables in a row. This will depend on how many people you have coming to your gathering.
- Put paper flowers in jars and set them in the middle of the tables.
- Have guests sit at tables across from each other and set a timer for 3 or 5 minutes.
- Tell them to start chatting and use the questions to get to know each other. When the timer is up, it's time to switch seats.
- Guests on one side of the table will all move to the right, guests across from them will stay put. This way everyone has a new person to chat with.
- Repeat for as long as people are having fun.
