
My hubby loves sugar cookies, but I can’t stand making them. They are so time consuming! I am just lazy enough that I hate making anything that requires rolling out. Then I found these beauties. The answer to all my woes. So easy, so yummy, tastes just like a perfect sugar cookie.


Sugar Cookie Bars
Literally the perfect easy dessert! Just as delicious as sugar cookies but way easier to throw together!

Ingredients
For the Bars
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 egg white
- 1 Tbsp . sour cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
For the Frosting
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 or 3 Tbsp. half and half
- 1 tsp vanilla
- pinch of salt
- food coloring
Instructions
For the Bars
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Butter a 9x13 baking dish well.
- In a large bowl whip together butter and sugar until pale and fluffy (about 4 minutes).
- Stir in egg and egg white, then add sour cream and vanilla and mix until blended.
- Slowly add in dry ingredients.
- Butter your hands and gently press into your buttered pan.
- Bake 16-19 minutes until fork comes out clean and edges are lightly brown.
- After squares are cooled completely, frost and cut into squares!
For the Frosting
- In a mixing bowl, blend together butter, powdered sugar and half and half. Stir in vanilla and salt. Add food coloring if desired.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container.
