Buckeye Brownies are simple to make and always a crowd-pleaser! They are a chocolate peanut butter brownie dream!
In this house we love peanut butter, and we may never make regular brownies again after having these Buckeye Brownies.
After our neighbor made us some Buckeye candy for Christmas, I thought the peanut butter filling and ganache would make an excellent topping for brownies, so I tried it! Friends, they do not disappoint.

Buckeye Brownies are three-layer peanut butter brownies. The bottom layer is a classic fudgy brownie, topped with a creamy peanut butter layer covered with chocolate ganache.
How to Make Buckeye Brownies
Note: I am sharing the recipe for the top two layers of these Buckeye Brownies today. The bottom layer is fudge brownies, so go ahead and try this easy homemade brownie recipe or make a batch with a mix. Either way, they will be great!
Buckeye Brownie Ingredients
Brownies
- Prepared Homemade Brownie Recipe or Brownie Mix
Buckeye Filling
- Peanut Butter
- Powdered Sugar
- Butter
- Vanilla
- Salt
Ganache
- Butter
- Heavy Cream
- Chocolate Chips
Peanut Butter Filling
- Add peanut butter to a large mixing bowl.
- Add melted butter, salt, and vanilla to the mixing bowl and stir together.
- Pour powdered sugar into the peanut butter mixture slowly, using a hand mixer to mix.
- Mix until the ingredients are well incorporated. It will look clumpy as shown in the photo above.
Ganache Topping
- Melt butter in a small saucepan, add heavy cream to butter, and mix well. When mixture comes to a boil, remove from heat.
- Pour butter and cream mixture over chocolate chips.
- Stir continuously with a rubber spatula.
- Keep stirring until the ganache is completely mixed.
Buckeye Brownies Final Steps
- Put peanut butter buckeye filling on top of cooled brownies.
- Spread the peanut butter layer across the brownies with a spatula until you have a smooth, even layer.
- Pour ganache on top of peanut butter layer and spread evenly.
- Allow the ganache layer to cool and set, then cut brownies into squares.
