Marshmallow Cream Fudge (aka Fantasy Fudge) is easy to make in under 30 minutes, and it is SO delicious. It’s melt-in-your-mouth perfection!

I love fudge, so it is about time that I shared the simple recipe that has been in my family forever. We grew up eating this treat every holiday season. I recently found out that our old family recipe for Marshmallow Cream Fudge is also known as Fantasy Fudge, and is commonly found on the back of a Marshmallow Creme jar! So funny right?

We love to give it to neighbors and friends for Christmas (if we aren’t gifting our amazing Homemade Soft Caramels), but it’s delicious all year long.

Marshmallow Cream Fudge

You only need a few ingredients to make this and you do not need a candy thermometer. (If you have one, you can use it, it just isn’t totally necessary.)

Marshmallow Creme jar, pecans and other fantasy fudge ingredients in bowls

Ingredients

  • Sugar
  • Butter
  • Semisweet Chocolate Chips
  • Evaporated Milk
  • Marshmallow Creme
  • Chopped Nuts (Pecans or Walnuts)
  • Vanilla Extract

You can add pretty much anything to change this up. For example, you can switch the nuts for toffee, or sprinkles (my kids love anything with sprinkles!) You can also omit toppings altogether, this fudge is delicious on it’s own.

Directions:

  • Line a 9 inch pan with parchment paper.

  • [Top left] Mix sugar, butter, and evaporated milk in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  • [Top right] Stir to dissolve sugar.
  • Bring the mixture to a full boil, stirring constantly for 4 minutes.
  • [Bottom Left] Remove pan from heat and stir in chocolate chips.
  • Continue stirring until they are completely melted.
  • [Bottom right] Add marshmallow creme, vanilla and nuts.

  • Let fudge cool completely.
  • Remove parchment from pan onto a flat surface, then cut fudge into small squares to serve.
  • Let the fudge sit for several hours to harden, or put in the fridge to speed up the process. Cut it into squares and store in an airtight container.

Marshmallow Cream Fudge Pro Tips:

Fudge will save for a week to 10 days. If you’re making it for a special occasion or holiday gifts, you can make it a few days ahead of time.

This Fudge freezes well. Wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and freeze in a sealed ziplock bag.

I like to make half this recipe in a small Pyrex dish. Half the recipe is plenty of fudge for my family of four – we make the full batch when we make it to share with family and friends.

Mine didn’t thicken up either. I followed per Batem. This is the first fail ever for me. Guess it’s back to doing it the way grandma did.
Even with refrigeration no go. Epic fail.
Heading back to the store for supplies.
Think I’ll try it as a dip.

I want to give some to about 12 people. How many times do I repeat this recipe to give everyone 10 or 12 pieces?

It depends how small you cut the pieces but I would guess about four batches. So fun!

I have been using this recipe for around 48 years. My Mom uSed the same recipe well before that. I have several people asking for it every Christmas and at all family functions. I also make a variation of it where I add 1 cup of creamy peanut butter after the chocolate chips and the Marshmallow Cream. It is awesome that way as well.
