If you like sugar cookies you will love our recipe for Frosted Sugar Cookie Bars. The same great taste but so much quicker to throw together.

My hubby loves these classic sugar cookies, but I am just lazy enough that I don't prefer making anything that requires rolling out. Thankfully, I found the answer to all my woes.

Enter, frosted sugar cookie bars. So easy, so yummy, tastes just like a perfect sugar cookie.

    Sugar Cookie Bars

Back to the matter at hand. You ready to see how easy these frosted sugar cookie bars actually are to throw together?

Four photos in a collage showing the steps to making a sugar cookie bar recipe.

Top Left - In a large bowl whip together butter and sugar until pale and fluffy (about 4 minutes).

Top Right - Stir in egg, egg white, sour cream, and vanilla and mix until well combined.

Bottom Left - Slowly add in dry ingredients and mix to combine.

Bottom Right - Preheat your oven to 375 degrees and butter a baking dish well. Butter your hands (wash them first) and gently press your dough into your buttered pan.

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until fork comes out clean and edges are golden.

While squares are cooling make your frosting. Wait until sugar cookie bars are cooled completely before frosting.

To make frosting simply blend together butter, powdered sugar, half and half, vanilla and salt. Add food coloring if desired. See full measurements and video tutorial below in the recipe card.

I used 1/2 cup sugar and with the sweet frosting I will be making these again with ONLY 1/4 cup sugar. We all need to cut back on sugar. Thanks for the recipe!!

Do you have any suggestions for making these in high altitude? How about best egg substitutes? We live in Colorado and have an egg allergic kiddo. These look amazing!
