Creamy Apple Fruit Salad
Our whole family loves this fruit salad with Cool Whip. As you can probably guess, you can change which fruits you use based on your preferences. I do think that Granny Smith Apples are amazing with Cool Whip though- it's just the right combination of tart and sweet. - Granny Smith Apples
- Strawberries
- Blueberries
- Frozen Whipped Topping (I use Cool Whip)
I like to serve most salads and sides in white serving bowls.
How to make Fruit Salad with Cool Whip
Wash and dry fruit. I like to use this vinegar fruit wash to prep fruit beforehand.
- Chop apples and strawberries into bite-sized pieces.
- Mix ⅔ of the chopped apples with about 1 cup of cool whip. Fold in ⅔ of the strawberries and blueberries.
- Add a layer of cool whip over the top of the creamy fruit mixture.
- Put the remaining fruit on top of the Cool whip layer. Serve immediately!
Optional: Garnish with a few dollops of extra cool whip.
Creamy Fruit Salad Recipe Tips
- The amount of fruit you use can vary. Don't worry about exact measurements, just put in as much of each fruit as you like.
- If you aren't serving immediately, keep the salad refrigerated until ready to serve.
- If you need to make this ahead of time, try to serve it within an hour or two of making it. (After a while, the apples will brown and start to get soggy.)

How to store this Fruit Salad Recipe with Cool Whip
Keep cool whip refrigerated separately from fruit before serving.
Once combined, you can store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container, however, the texture will not be the same after a few hours. Consume the salad within 1-2 hours for optimal freshness.
Fruit Salad Recipes with Cool Whip FAQs
I chose blueberries, strawberries and apples for this salad because they all work well together in fruit salads.
Watery fruit, like watermelon and pineapple, can make fruit salad too watery after 30-60 minutes. This recipe doesn’t call for those, but if you were to add them I recommend eating it quickly afterward.
The best way to avoid a soggy fruit salad is to serve it immediately after making it.
Avoid adding fruits that release a lot of water until closer to serving time.
Properly drain or dry washed fruit before adding them to the salad.
Toss cut-up apples with a bit of lemon juice to help prevent browning.
Store cut-up and pre-washed fruit in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to use.
