This fresh Raspberry Milkshake is the best ever. You have to try it! In under 5 minutes you can have an amazing raspberry dessert!

How are you keeping cool this summer? Naturally when it's 100 degrees outside (and 88 degrees inside my house) I crave cold treats. We love to make this Easy Blackberry Ice Cream or our Chick Fil A Frosted Lemonade when the temps get really high. Today I'm sharing another lifelong favorite - a Raspberry Milkshake! And while you're here, you should check out some of our other amazing dessert recipes!

One of the things I've looked forward to every summer since I can remember is the fresh raspberry milkshakes at Bear Lake!

Bear Lake is a beautiful lake in the mountains right on the border of Idaho and Utah. The lake is always packed in the summer because it is so gorgeous. It's perfect for boating and water skiing, and the locals who live near Bear Lake grow the freshest and most delicious raspberries EVER.

Overhead view of a raspberry milkshake, garnished with raspberries and whipped cream.

The milkshake stands are everywhere in the lake town, and they all claim to be the original. I have my personal favorite, but if we're being honest, they are all good!

I don't live in Utah anymore and some summers I don't make it there. Last year was one of those years, so I set out to figure out how to recreate a Bear Lake style raspberry milkshake at home.

How to Make the BEST Raspberry Milkshake:

Add whole milk, ice cream and fresh raspberries to the blender.

Blend until smooth and serve immediately.

For a nice consistency, you will need to use a powerful blender. I love my KitchenAid Blender so much. (Mine is pink, but it comes in basically every color!)

Pink blender with fresh raspberries, vanilla ice cream and milk in it.

    Pro Tips

    • Use the freshest raspberries that you can find! The fresher and riper they are, the better.
    • Keep the ice cream as cold as possible. Soften it only enough that you can scoop it into the blender.
    • Chill your glasses in the fridge before pouring for an extra nice touch. It helps the milkshake stay thick and creamy as you enjoy it. We love these milkshake glasses.

These are just PERFECT in the summer, or really any time that you can find fresh raspberries! And, if you are feeling adventurous, using chocolate ice cream or adding bananas are some delicious ways to change it up, too!

I still hope to keep getting back to Bear Lake in the summers when I can, but this really is a good copycat! I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.

If you like this recipe we would love if you took the time to leave a comment and positive review!

Multiplied blessings be yours! We live in the Denver area and our son lives in Boise. For the last two years we have driven by Bear Lake / Garden City enroute to Boise.. My wife and I were joking about going by GC just to get a raspberry milkshake. Now we don't have to! What a pleasant surprise to stumble across your website. Thanks for sharing.

We've tried raspberry shakes at Bear Lake and they are wonderful...and so was this recipe! We used our own fresh raspberries...and will have more in future years as we're moving from Colorado to Cache Valley this fall and we know raspberries grow well there!
