- Add cold water and allow to chill for 15 minutes in refrigerator.

Orange Creamsicle Salad Recipe Tips
- I like to let this orange fluff sit for at least one hour before serving. You can most certainly make this recipe the day before a gathering. I brought this creamsicle fluff to a morning playdate and everyone loved the recipe!
- You can top individual servings in ramekins with a little mandarin orange and mini marshmallows to make a perfect Easter or Mothers Day brunch place setting.
How to serve this Orange Fluff Dessert
- Chilled Serving: Orange fluff salad is typically served chilled. Ensure that it has been properly refrigerated before serving to keep it cold and refreshing.
- Individual Servings: If wanting individual servings scoop or spoon the orange fluff salad into individual serving bowls or dishes. You can use glass dessert cups, small bowls, or even stemmed wine glasses for an elegant presentation.
- Garnish (Optional): If desired, you can garnish each serving with additional ingredients like a maraschino cherry, a sprinkle of shredded coconut, a few chopped nuts (such as pecans or walnuts), or a small citrus zest for added flavor and decoration.
Orange Creamsicle Salad storage
- Refrigeration: Orange fluff salad is a chilled dessert salad, so it should be stored in the refrigerator at all times, both before and after serving.
- Cover Tightly: After making or serving the salad, cover the container or bowl tightly with plastic wrap, aluminum foil, or an airtight lid. This will help prevent moisture loss and maintain the salad's creamy texture.
- Avoid Prolonged Storage: Orange fluff salad is best enjoyed within a few days of preparation. Over time, the whipped topping can lose its texture and become watery, and the salad's overall quality may decline.
- Don't Freeze: Freezing is not recommended for orange fluff salad. The texture of the salad, particularly the whipped topping and marshmallows, can be adversely affected by freezing, leading to a less appealing result when thawed.

If I multiple this recipe, do I need to multiple the chilling times?
Sarah
That is something I've never tried so I'm not sure, but my guess is you wouldn't necessarily need to double or triple it.

Thank you for sharing this recipe! I made it on Mother's Day 2022. It reminds me of my late grandmother's recipe for fluff. It also reminds me of a North western dish! It's not as easy as it looks there are lots of descriptive words like "fold" in there. Its also considered quite healthy because of the Mandarin oranges I used " no sugar added" Mandarin oranges. I also half of the whipped topping! But more marshmallows! Such a fun dish.

Half distracted me just made this and the moment I poured the pudding mix in I was met with the smell of banana... so I made it with banana cream pudding instead of vanilla, and yall, I am not even mad! After tasting it I decided the only obvious thing to do was add some shredded sweetened coconut! Holy holy!
Christine
What’s happens if you accidentally used “cook and serve “ pudding :/??????

The whole family loved the orange version of this recipe. Tonight I am trying this with peach jello and chunks of canned peaches for a peaches and cream version. Then maybe I will try it with strawberry jello and fresh strawberries and maybe even with berry blue jello and fresh bluberries. Oh the possibilities!
Sarah
Peach sounds delightful! So glad y'all loved it!

This was a great salad for a hot, humid Father’s Day brunch in the Northeast. I made the recipe as stated, and it was a big hit with my family. Since we do not have air conditioning, and I did not want the salad to get soupy, so it was served right out of fridge with no wait time. Good decision since it was such a warm day. I made this the night before so it would set up in time for an early brunch the next day. It did taste like a creamsicle. I used the Cool-Whip lite, and the family decided they should consume it at one sitting. No leftovers for father! Thank you for adding this recipe to my salad choices.
Sarah
I'm glad to hear it worked out well even in the hot weather! Yay!

I’ve made thus 3 times now, it’s soooo good and really simple to make. Thank you for sharing this recipe!!!
Rebecca
I made this last night & it’s quite runny...do I make the pudding up as I normally would or do I just add the pudding unmixed to the jell-o?
Sarah
Just the mix!
David
I made this today with strawberry jello, cream cheese pudding, 16 oz of fresh strawberries and the marshmallows it was nummy.
Sarah
That sounds amazing!

Hi there. I'm looking forward to making this sweet treat for my kids. However, my comment is just a general comment about your site: There are SO many ads that it's hard to even get to the recipe. Perhaps consider fewer? Just a thought. ThanksQ
Sarah
Hey Carmen! I'm sorry your experience to finding the recipe was negative, we try to keep our ads minimal but they are managed by a 3rd party. I think right now with the way things are with ad revenue they are adding more to make up for some losses. We want you and our other readers to have a good experience when you visit, so we really appreciate your feedback! We will talk to them about having less! :)

Please can you give an answer for the size of the jello in the pudding. I can't believe on all these recipes nobody puts the size of the jello and the pudding and then when somebody ask they don't answer so if anyone knows would you please tell me I would like to make this.
Sarah
Hey Maggie! It's the standard 3 oz boxes of pudding and jello mix. We are sorry that we didn't specify that before.
Cinlex
The recipe shows 3 oz box of each.
Kim
What size box of jallo/ pudding
Amanda Haynes
Thawed or frozen cool whip?
Jessica
Thawed!
