If you are looking for a great crockpot chicken taco recipe, these slow cooker shredded chicken tacos are super easy, and out of this world delicious!
If you have read many of my kitchen posts you might have noticed a theme and consequently predicted to yourself that these crockpot chicken tacos might be easy and they might be cost effective. Yes and yes. Oh, and I almost forgot delicious. Yes. To make these crockpot chicken tacos all you need is chicken, salsa and taco seasoning. Three ingredients is all it takes to make a masterpiece folks!
When I say these slow cooker chicken tacos are easy to throw together, I mean EASY. They are literally one of the very first meals I ever learned to cook in my high school years, and they were a weekly go to for us when we got married! Plus, this recipe can easily be used for more than just shredded chicken tacos. It works great for taco salads, tostadas or nachos as well!
I typically make a big batch and some of us will eat them as the traditional chicken tacos while the others will take a taco salad approach. If I am trying to be especially healthy then I eat mine rolled in iceberg lettuce like a chicken lettuce taco! Honestly the possibilities are endless. One thing is for sure though, everybody loves this salsa chicken, even my pickiest eaters.

Oh my stars!! So I made these last night, and thought man these are SO good, and SO easy. Like, SO EASY! my four year old even ate them, and he is so picky. Then I read the last comment on this recipe and realized it was my own from over five years ago!! Haha haha so guys, take my word. This recipe is GOOD!
Move over Cafe Rio. These things were better than my sisters quinceanera.
definately delicious
Thank you so much!
Thanks it looks yummy I love cooking
I buy BIG BIG containers of Salsa and Taco seasoning. So is it like a 1/4 of taco seasoning in a packet and like a 650ml Jar of salsa?
Honestly I am pretty approximate with this recipe! If you just sprinkle a bit of taco seasoning over the top (maybe two or three tablespoons) and then probably two cups ish of salsa. You just want to make sure all the chicken is coated! Hope that helps :)
Definitely a must try and I love the nacho idea.
Have a great weekend.

These look awesome!!!! I love chicken tacos and different kinds of taco salads, I’ll have to cook the chicken in my crock pot too next time! Great tip!
Yay!! Haili I am so glad you liked it! It is seriously one of my go-to recipes because it is so easy and it makes the chicken so tender. Mmm.
I made these tonight. :) SO good! Thank you for the recipe! I used fresh chicken, and they were the strips. So I only had them in the crock pot for 3hrs on high. Still tasted perfection!
