If you have read many of my kitchen posts you might have noticed a theme and consequently predicted to yourself that these crockpot chicken tacos might be easy and they might be cost effective. Yes and yes. Oh, and I almost forgot delicious. Yes.

Crockpot Chicken Tacos

To make these crockpot chicken tacos all you need is chicken, salsa and taco seasoning. Three ingredients is all it takes to make a masterpiece folks.

If you love easy slow-cooker meals you are also going to love our Teriyaki Chicken, our Slow Cooker Tikka Masala and our Slow Cooker Pot Roast.

Bird's eye view of two hardshell crockpot chicken tacos on a white countertop. When I say these slow cooker chicken tacos are easy to throw together, I mean EASY. They are literally one of the very first meals I ever learned to cook in my high school years, and they were a weekly go to for us when we got married.

Plus, this recipe can easily be used for more than just salsa chicken tacos. It works great for taco salads, tostadas or nachos as well.

Salsa Chicken Tacos

I typically make a big batch and some of us will eat them as the traditional chicken tacos while the others will take a taco salad approach. If I am trying to be especially healthy then I eat mine rolled in iceberg lettuce like a chicken lettuce taco! Honestly the possibilities are endless. One thing is for sure though, everybody loves this salsa chicken crockpot meal, even my pickiest eaters.

Top Left – Grab your ingredients.

Top Right – Add chicken, salsa and taco seasoning to the crockpot. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.

Bottom Left – When chicken is cooked through, shred using two forks.

Bottom Right – Assemble all your toppings and enjoy!

I buy BIG BIG containers of Salsa and Taco seasoning. So is it like a 1/4 of taco seasoning in a packet and like a 650ml Jar of salsa?

Honestly I am pretty approximate with this recipe! If you just sprinkle a bit of taco seasoning over the top (maybe two or three tablespoons) and then probably two cups ish of salsa. You just want to make sure all the chicken is coated! Hope that helps :)

I made these tonight. :) SO good! Thank you for the recipe! I used fresh chicken, and they were the strips. So I only had them in the crock pot for 3hrs on high. Still tasted perfection!
